Can anyone help.
I recently tried to claim my P.P.I'S back from Capital One and they are now saying that I was given some months free at the start and then the option to cancel so they won't pay out. Problem is I can't remember they may be right. Should I bother continuing. Also I had a credit card with P.P.I attached some years ago with MONUMENT I paid it all off (£3000) in 2005. Problem all I have left of the paperwork is a final statement and they are saying that some years ago the account was moved to Barclaycard and they don't have any details of it. Should I give up?
ANY ADVICE APPRECIATED

The question really is though, were you eligible for the PPI at the beginning, were there any clauses within the policy that would have excluded you?
What is the basis that you are claiming that the PPI was missold?0 -
Hi there
As Natweststaffmember asks, were you eligible for PPI from the beginning of the policy? Or did you already have adequate cover from your employer maybe? There are lots of reasons.....
I would check out the terms and conds of the policy also.
Was this the final decision, if not then write back to them and ask them to reconsider, in the final response they should give details of the financial ombudsman service (FOS), keep at them.
For more information on your accounts you can request a Subject Access Request (SAR), they have 40 days to comply, but there is a charge of £10 payable by either postal order or cheque payment.
Link here below for template, good luck.
