Managed to sell a couple more over the last few weeks and I have got one that needs posting. I just wondered if any of you send them royal mail or courier service? If you use couriers, who do you use? Thanks.
Hi Sweetpea
welcome back.... Yes I send mine all the time via courier, I use either Interparcel or Parcel2go it costs £6.50 + Vat.
I always choose Yodel as the courier, used them loads of times and never had a problem as yet..... hope that helps

Thanks Janey. I can't seem to get onto Parcel2go's website, but interparcel looks good so will go with them.0

Hi chatty!
Lovely cakes! I particularly like your little doggy one - he's really sweet! and I think the blue Nappies with it look quite pretty.
I agree, it's really quiet - everyone must be busy with orders.:)
Has anyone made any Christmas ones yet?0 -
Hi everyone,
Been on MSE for a while and just came across the nappy cake thread yesterday. All your cakes look amazing. Ive just started making these over the last few weeks. Things are going really well, had 7 orders since launching the facebook page 2 weeks ago.
Have decided to do a few of the christmas fairs at schools, community centre that sort of thing. So was just wondering how you all find you get on selling at fairs and what you find sell best really so i have an idea of how much i should take with me. We do 1,2&3 tiers also do mini cakes, sock cupcakes and bouquets.
Would be really grateful for any advice you can give about attending fairs.

I hope you don't mind me asking a question, it's not about nappy cakes but selling. I would like to run a stall at some fairs during the Xmas period, from reading your thread I know that some of you do fairs. But I am wondering if I have to be a business, ie. self employed, tax etc. As it will not be a year round thing just Xmas I am not sure.0

Hi again everyone!
I haven't been on here in a while, been busy adjusting to the daily school run and all that comes with school! Eldest daughter all settled into full time school now so I'm turning my attention back to my nappy cakes.
I just thought i'd let you all know that Asda have a good promotion on Pampers nappies at the mo, you can get 2 big boxes of Baby Dry nappies for £20, there are 136 in each box so it works out at about 7p a nappy which is the cheapest I've seen in a while. Asda are also doing another promotion at the mo whereby if you spend over £40 on your shopping (you have to buy 8 or more different items) and put your receipt details into their price guarantee online or on their iphone app, you get a £5 voucher off your next shop plus whatever you normally would've been given using the price guarantee! I'm going to use my voucher against the purchase of the nappies which makes them a whole lot cheaper! I'm not sure if this deal is in all Asda stores though and I can't see it online but worth a look. Hope this helps!0 -
My local Home Bargains have started stocking the same toys as the Shining Star ones but without the name a star bit. Unfortunately the price has rocketed from £1.99 to £3.99
Still lovely toys though.

I have to order Nappies when I do an online shop as I don't drive and last wk ordered the Jumbo boxes but they delivered the ones with 96 in instead.
Twice, they have done this and of course I kept them as I can't get on a bus with them but it makes me so mad. If they are out of stock, they should say so on the website.0 -
Lovely cakes Chatty.
Here is my latest custom order mini 1 tier cake. The little boy was named Noah so the customer wanted something with an animal theme. I managed to get a lovely shining star elephant and an elephant wash cloth. I also did the ingredients tag in the shape of Noah's ark and put his name on it too. She was very happy with it.0
