Hows everyones sales going?
Doing very well Vicky. Some weeks its mad just trying to make them all in between other things I have to make...... blue seem to be the flavour of december and already have 5 orders for next week and theres 4 blue and 1 neutral. so where are all the girls.0 -
I know what you mean Vikki, it's an up and coming thing. I am just trying to do as many shows etc as I can and make them look good so people remember them. Do you do pamper cakes etc as well? Maybe try and diversify a bit to bring in some income. I always sell sock pints, cupcakes etc for ladies and men at shows as they sell well and pay for my table cost etc. The nappy cake orders then come after. I am a bit worried as I have jsut given up my other job so it's a bit make or break for me. I do think you need to do something for a couple of years to get established as well though, this has been my first year and I have had repeat business already but I could be busier, I like to feel the pressure!! Keep going, if you have loads of stock you may as well, good luck xxMum to 2 DSs, dog mum, wife full-time worker.

I had a nappy cake displayed in my daughter's shop but nothing came of it....sister in law bought a 2 tier one for a neighbour, I have just done a blue 3 tier one for my daughter and another 3 tier pink one for my daughter's friend. So in future probably just stick to doing them for family and friends as presents.0

Bit hit and miss with me too. Got too much stock to give up though!
Just before Christmas, had a bit of luck where someone bought 5, 3 tiers in one go - could do with a few more like that!
Only seem to sell 3 tiers and minis. Don't think I have ever sold a 1 tier.
Unlike Chatty123, I hardly ever sell blue ones - seem to be pink or cream.0 -

So you must have the baby girls in your area. maybe its something in the water..
did make a lemon one a couple weeks ago tho0 -
Three tier and minis are my most popular cakes too, I think people either want a token gift, i.e a mini cake or a big gift i.e the 3 tier. I do sell one tiers as well though, it's the 2 tiers I hardly ever sell. I have been doing all colours, not one particularly more than the other.Mum to 2 DSs, dog mum, wife full-time worker.

Hi Ladies - Happy New Year!!
Just thought I'd mention that I went to IKEA the other day where they have white hand towels for 19p, just the right size for baby & look brilliant round the middle tier of a 3 tier, or top of a 2 tier, with the right colour ribbon tied round the middle. Has significantly increased my profit margin too!!
Also, home bargains seem to have restocked on Shining Stars toys now all the xmas stock has gone0 -
Where did you get your photo tent from if you don't mind me asking? I could do with improving my photos!Mum to 2 DSs, dog mum, wife full-time worker.
