do any of you lovely people know what is the best ribbon to print on.. have tried a couple i have and the ink seems to rub off.. i do have a little bit left off of a roll that you can print on but i cant for the life of me remember where i bought it from
I tried loads of different ribbon printing methods with a inkjet printer and couldnt get a good result with any of them! it either smudged in the printer or would not dry. I cant remember what this was but there was a coating designed for printing ribbon with a inkjet you rubbed onto the ribbon before printing that was quite expensive and the wrost result from all of them.
I bought a ribbon printer in the end, they dont use inks they use a thermal foil and the machine costs a fourtune and the running costs are not exactly cheap either but it does give a lovely result much better than the pic looks on my nappy cake.
Even the different ribbon printers do seem to give different results I needed to print on the floral poly and one of the printers that was tested with it wouldnt entertain printing on that at all but made a great job on satins.

Ohh also, where do you get personalised items from?? Is ebay quite good for that?? Thanks girlies xx
I do my own been embroidering for about 15 years now puting it to some use lol! There is normally quite a lot of personalised items for sale on e bay you would be better hooking up with some one that does it locally to you though you wouldnt be paying e bay fees which sellers have to incoporate into thier sales or the postage charges Also you would be able to get your own item embroidered, so you control the quality of the item. I have a mate that does craft fayres and another with a shop that does embroidered goods BUT they both use a lot worse quality towel/blanket than I would embroider onto. Most people that do embroidery will do it on whatever they can get cheap at the time and some towels are really poor quality.

    Hello peeps,

All the new cakes are beautiful, and im loving the fact you can personalise them really good idea.I have been knocked abit today as i rushed around yesterday to make a cake for a last mintue order, and today when i gave it to them i ended up in tears as the said it was horrendous and would be embarrassed to give it as a gift.I placed an Upsy Daisy soft toy on the top and she said thats enough to give you nightmares,i said little people love in the night garden but she didnt want to know.I didnt no what to do or say,and to make it worse its for a 1 year old so the stuff i used isnt likely to get used anytime soon which leaves me out of pocket.Cant believe how rude she was, they may not be everyones cup of tea but she new what she was ordering:mad::mad: anyway sorry for ranting, but have just been so taken aback by her reaction x

OMG that is terrible. I now only sell from pictures of ones I have already taken or I send a picture of one if it is a special order.

I am just back from a new garden centre. They had a box with 1 pair of socks, 1 bib, 1 body and a small teddy 45 pounds (don't have a pound sign on this laptop lol) and a small bucket with 4 pairs socks, 1 body, a sleep suit, a bib and a small teddy 69 pound. They were nothing special but I am sure they will sell loads:(

OMG emma that is awful wat a cow i am sure it is lovely. I don't understand some people. This is another reason we should all take deposits. I admit i don't but will be doing so from now on.

I have my first craft fair for this year booked :jWish i had more lined up but it's a bit hard to get someone to have the kids. I did quite a lot last year and one a week before i had by DS2 in december.

ooh i just wanted to say be careful if you are using the shinning star bears from home bargains or b&M as i nearly bought some but the label on ours stated they are not for newborns as they may shed their fibres. So i didn't buy them.

Thankyou,lrlrip,louby-lou-lou and Giggle,i really appreciate your comments and hugs, and taking a deposit isnt a bad idea, something ill shall do in the future for cakes that go outside my circle of family and friends.

Good luck Giggle with the fair this weekend, and to all who are looking or preparing for future fairs x
