Please can someone help me here, complete computer dumbo grandmother.
My grandsons wanted the internet so that they could go online with their x-boxes. They have this at their mothers house but wanted to be able to still play when they are at their
Dads, my son;
We had a doorstep representative from Virgin who said it was a free installation offer
so I said OK They later charged me 30 pounds. Thefirst problem we had when they came to install was that the computer was not suitable, it did not have a connection port. The technician said buy
this and when its installed all you do is plug the x-box into the modem.
This worked OK. Four weeks ago no internet. Virgin said this was a server fault and would be resolved. Yesterday I rang again to ask what progress they were making and when we could expect service again. They said no network fault now and would send a technician today. He came this afternoon and said basically it was our fault as
connecting the x-box into the modem causes a hot spot and knocks out the IP address. My grandson has done this at his Moms house for over a year now with no problem.
Please will be grateful for any advice
