Random money deposited in my current account

It's only £2.58 before we get excited! But it's down as a "Bank Credit" yesterday with a random reference instead of a name it says BTBTRR then ten digits

I have no idea what on earth this is, certainly not a refund or anything I was expecting. Any ideas?

Thanks!

Do you use BT for your phone? Are you on a direct debit arrangement with them? It might be that they gave you some money back (although a peculiarly small amount)

You know what, that's exactly what it is PasturesNew! I moved my line rental to Sky a couple of months ago and had a residual credit on my account with BT. What a plonker I am! :o)

  • Was thinking it might be a refund of VAT from BT.
British gas have been doing this to me all year since VAT went down to 15%.
