I wonder if anyone else has experienced this problem?
I bank online with Nat West and did the normal payday thing of paying my credit card. Due to commotion in the office, I paid £700 instead of £70 to my cc provider. I spoke to Nat West within a minute of making the error but they told it left my account instantaneously and I would need to contact cc company. Phoned the cc company who very helpfully told me it will take up to 4 working days to show on my account and a up to another 6 working days to get the overpayment back to my account. Now I realise that if someone wanted to help me they probably could have done. (I was really polite on the phone as well).
Anyone any ideas or do I just wait two weeks to get my money back??
Thanks for your help

If the payment has already gone Natwest cannot do anything.
If the payment hasnt reached the CC company yet they cannot do anything until it does.
When they get it they can send it back.
Not sure what else you are looking for?0 -
If Natwest sent the payment out by Faster Payments, there is nothing they can do - as a recall cannot be initiated in the same way as under the "old" BACS system.
However, your credit card company quoting you four days sounds more like the time span for a BACS payment - I doubt they're going to hold the payment in a suspense account for four days. I'd suggest double checking with Natwest that it definitely went by Faster Payments. If they say yes, call your card company again and speak to someone else. If they still say four days, ask to speak to complaints, and challenge them as to why they're sitting on your money for four days! What would William Shatner do?0
