Internet Connection Monitoring

Can anyone recommend an internet connection monitoring application ?
What I would like is a utility that "pings" a given website, say once per second, and graphs the resulting times so I can see how well my internet connection is performing. I would like to leave it on all the time working in the background.

It is a bit of an overkill but you could start here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Comparison_of_network_monitoring_systems
Whithout being awkward, do you understand what you are monitoring? pings onlt tell you the time it takes for a packet to reach a point. Tracert show the time through all the hops. Non of these show bandwidth which is yet a separte measurement. Unless you are a gamer, then bandwidwidth is often more important than a ping responce.0
