Hi
Just thought I would warn other Egg card holders that I have received a letter from Egg today saying they will not be renewing my card when it expires in July.
I have never missed a payment or gone over my limit of £2000.

Probably cause you are too good a customer and they don't get anything out of you.
I've just transferred my egg balance to Virgin, so I expected I will get a letter from them when my card is due as I've no intention of spending on it. Don't think it expiries for nearly 2 years though.
If you do a search on the BBC site, you'll see an article about how Egg were getting rid of customers who basically always pay everything up and have zero balances.0 -

Think this has more to do with overall risk now Citi are involved. There were rumours from the BBC about this but never proven nor substantiated.2010 - year of the troll

Probably correct as I also received a letter from CITI today saying they were raising interest on my credit card with them to 26% . AS i have a nil balance with them I have cancelled my card .

blimey - its not a good week for you is it? It kinda proves that it is best to keep a small balance on certain cards - but why should we have to

Just to buck the trend, I'm an always payer and I've been sent a new card til 2011!
To the OP - you say you pay off in full each month, but how much do you actually spend on the card? I know every time there's a round of closures many people post saying how they're great customers, pay off in full....then reveal that the card's sat in their sock drawer for the past year0
