Missing Transactions on Card Statement

I use home banking software (old version of Quicken) and enter all receipts. I check every transaction against the monthly statements.
Quite often (though not as often as I would like
) the transactions for some tickets never appear on a statement - after about 6 months, I assume they will never appear and issue a "write off".
Has anyone else ever noticed this ?
Should I tell the companies involved (
