he desparately need to find out the APrs on all those unsecured accounts.

Any bank charges, late payment charges, PPI he can reclaim. Can he get a lodger as the income is tax free?

I will ask him about them, he house needs repairs and staying there doesn't seem to be an option anymore. Thankyou very much for your help.

A water meter may help. I had one fitted for free last year - was paying £32 pm - now £10pm. I'm on my own in a 2 bed house.

Might be worth ringing the local water authority and see what they suggest?

Otherwise, can't really add to what others have said. Good luck.

Bearing in mind the level of secured debt, I think that he needs to start reading this:

Thankyou for your help, it has got to the point now where he is wanting to give his house up, so don't think getting a metre will help.

Just had a look at the link, and at the moment he is upto date with his mortage and i can't see how that would help him, as his mortage payments are low its the debts that are high.

on a lighter note (because I think you are going to need a sense of humour) maybe a new fiance?
...hope this one's worth it and I really and sincerely hope he appreciates the effort you are making...
you must be one in a million and I hope he realises this not least because he is in a right mess...
I'm guessing here because I am new to this but he does seem close to the edge.
    Any luck with CCCS?
TBH might be worth contacting that TV show who look at the psychological reasons why folk get into debt.
and I might also not be in such a rush to tie the knot as I feel bankruptcy is so close...
    Has he been to CAB?

I think i do need a sense of humour at the moment, especially that i have exams coming up which are very important so trying to study for them. I love him a lot and he does apprciate the effort i am making. Wedding is booked for september and i do want to marry him. He has not managed to get through to cccs, it rings and just gets put on a hold for ages, he is going to try again in the morning.

He has not been to the CAB, I will suggest to him tomorrow that he contacts them. I have had to give him a kick up the behind with this as he has been burying his head in the sand, but he knows he can't keep doing that.

    What tv show is that?

Thankyou very much for your help.
