Hi,
I know this is a long shot, but can anyone give me a clue as to what the initial set up costs are for refitting a shop as a hairdressers. I'm thinking about setting up in business, and I haven't got the faintest idea whether this would be within my reach.
Thanks

I fear this may be a "how long is a piece of string?" kind of question. To give yourself a start, you need to list what you need in a hairdressers, and then cost the hardware. How much it would cost to plumb sinks in etc would depend ENTIRELY on the current layout of the premises chosen (which should be carefully considered). Because if you choose premises where you'd have to install long lengths of drains and piping, it's going to cost an arm and a leg.
BTW, a friend of mine found that a former hairdressers made a very easy conversion to a cybercafe: water and mains plugs in lots of places! Don't know if the reverse would necessarily be true, but at least there would be plenty of plugs!Signature removed for peace of mind0 -
My son opened his salon in August of last year, he had a few of his mates to do things like, laying laminate, plumbing, joinery etc at a chep rate, I think it cost him around £15,000. But he has a really nice trendy salon (or contemparory as he would call it)0
