Hi all my car insurance is due for renewal next month and i've been looking around at quotes off the usual comparison sites.I was involved in a accident in april this year which wasn't my fault and which the 3rd party has accepted full responsibility for. When filling in the claim section its asking me for the total cost
I've also been looking into people using the cashback sites to get cheaper insurance any advice
what would i put for this as it cost £1992 for my insurers to fix my car.I'm having physio treatment at the moment since the crash & still off work but i'm unsure what to put for the full cost as it's still unknown. Its also put my insurance up even though it was not my fault!! :mad:Claim Cost
Please provide an indication of the total cost of the incident, including any compensation for personal injuries

Put £1992 for now since that is the only cost known.
Consider adding the increased insurance costs to your special damages claim (excess, lost wages, medical bills etc). You should take screen prints showing quotes with no accident and with the non fault accident as proof.0 -
Just checked tesco compare and i have the following options to choose from
Accident Claim - Not settled
Accident Claim - Not Settled & Person injured
Accident Claim - Driver not at fault (Recovered all costs & excess)
Accident Claim - Driver not at fault (Full recovery, persons injured)
Would it be best to choose the last option or the 2nd?0 -

Try putting the claim in as non fault with costs of £2999 and then ring the companies that come up best and explain the situation to them. Make sure you take a note of the persons name and the date / time.0
