Halifax current acc £1000 transfer

The requirement of the Halifax current account reward ,is that a £1000 is paid into the account every month ,could the £1000 be a transfer from another Halifax account?

  • Just had a good look at their T&C's and it doesn't mention whether the money has to come from outside Halifax at all, so I'm guessing you can fund it from another Halifax account.

Interesting, as often these accounts are costed on the basis of the bank getting "new" money every month from outside, rather than simply cannibalising funds already invested with them. Many operate this way, - an example is the Coventry BS current account, which stipulates that the £1000 can't include transfers from other Coventry accounts.

As it's not showing on the website, I think that Halifax one may not have this restriction. However it might be worth a call to them before committing yourself.

    Cheers

Thanks Bernard ,I telephoned and a call centre person said no,but think he was just talking from the top of his head, better say no, then I am safe,I need an assurance,it would be so easy to leave £1000 in a Halifax web saver and just move it back and to.

I had this a/c last year but was made redundant. I wanted to continue with it by transferring £1,000 each month from an outside savings a/c but they wouldn't let me - moved my money elsewhere out of protest.

Strange, because, I was going to move it from a £1000,from a Halifax websaver at 4.5% and out again after 24 hrs, has any-one got a definitive answer

Could you get away with just paying the £1000 once, then withdrawing it and paying it again monthly?? :D
  • Nationwide from the 1st April 2006 have a simular deal, transfer > £1,000 with fairly good interest, you have to have between £1,000 to £3,000 balance to benefit each month. ;)

  • i work for online helpdesk at halifax.

i'm pretty sure, we were told, that you can credit £100 x 10, like IN OUT IN OUT IN OUT etc and that might work.

think about it, on your statement, at the bottom of the credits column it gives a total. if THAT is over £1000 you qualify.

that's what it used to be, a few months ago.

like i said, not sure about now.
