lost my claim

Hi people

new here:j

I made a claim for bank charges after following through martins tips, however as i appealed they were also appealing to the courts so they put my claim on hold.

unfortunatly i have recently moved and lost all my bits of paper work ( all the charges, the letters they sent me and letters i sent them etc.) Will they still have details of my case, i know this should be sorted one way or another this summer so was wondering if i dont have all my stuff will i have to start up a claim again?

they will have it all. if you need to go to the ombudsman though you might need copies and might have to ask the bank again, better still is get the Ombudsman to ask them for the details as they probably wont charge them.

Independant of the banks and i think they govorn them to some extent, what they say goes if the banks dont live up to the laws.

Are you in financial hardship? If you're not then the Ombudsman is not the route you go for. You could SAR the bank for all data not statements and that may produce copies of your letters and their responses.

    also

if the court verdict does go our way, there has been a lot of charges i have incurred since i sent off my request for them charges back..so obviously the figure will be greater than what i originally claimed, should i ask my bank for the details of all my transactions again so i can re calculate the charges?

You need to do a SAR.

There is a PDF you need to read under introductory bit(the middle one). It gives the wording for a letter to be sent to the bank. Make sure you state on the letter that you want ALL data held by the bank on you and NOT bank statements. You need to enclose the £10 fee which is the statutory amount payable.

    thanks for your help

i think one of the accounts i was trying to claim back charges for has since been closed, is it still possible to get this information?

also if i wanted the charges aswel will this be included in the £10 fee?

100% yes on the closed bit. And even when I asked for a SAR with NatWest they sent me statements anyway, in spite of me not needing them.
