    I heard people have had trouble getting the Wi-Fi card (and some other stuff) to work after changing to a different Linux distro.
    Issues specific to Ubuntu Netbook Remix 9.04 and the Acer Aspire ONE are listed here.

    No, but better the devil you know ;) Anyway, the GUI looks more like Windows than Linux ever used to, but that's as far as it goes.

    Its a Nokia 6500 Slide (3G). I already use it to connect to the internet using my Macbook. To be honest all the phones I have had for the last few years have had modem support over GPRS/3G.

    I negotiated quite a good data package on the phone contract so I dont want to go to the extra expence of getting a dongle. It should work if the computer can talk to the phone.
