Reply saying they would look at account, nothing received, what now?

Hi all, I sent a letter beginning of April to a loan company pointing out mis-selling (I had a recent illness/hospitalisation that would have meant me not being covered for this same illness and this was not explained, also we was told we HAD to have the PPI on the loan).

They replied with a letter date 16th April saying they would look into the account and contact us within 7-10 working days but I have not received anything else.

I realise they have 8 weeks but should I send the stage 2 letter - they have not said we do not have a case just that they would look into it - or should I just send a 'why have you not replied?' letter.

Any advice? It says we can email, should I do this or is it not advisable?

Also, this company is in the Isle of Man and it says the receiving bank is a Nat West Offshore Account which I never realised before, it also says that the registered office is in the British Virgin Isles but we signed this agreement in the UK. Does that make a difference? I am a bit confused by how it all works but the agreement is due to end next year and I want to get it all sorted out before then.

Thanks for any help.

    Hi there

Normally a 2nd letter is sent if they have responded but not resolved your case, so really you can try the Financial ombudsman service (FOS) from here if you want to, as the 8 weeks have gone by and they have not got back at all.

I would contact the FOS either by ringing them or downloading and printing off a complaints form on their site.
However, maybe it would be best if you ring them to explain your situation, tell them the 8 weeks have passed and you have not heard a thing, they may give you some advice over the phone, for your best options here, good luck.
