I know that banks pass on information to credit agencies but how much - is it more than loans and payments? I used the CreditReport.co.uk service and on my credit report under my addresses there was a business address where I used to have a business. Would my business bank account have been used to link me to it?

If you have ever apppllied or had credit where you business adress has been used as either a current or past address, that will create a linked address.Got Halifax Classic to reduce my interest rate by 5% woohoo - 10/06/08 Thanks MSE!

Hi,
I used to work for a debt recovery, and yes the banks sell info onto us.
we find out everything thats in all your accounts and going right back.
This includes missed pmts and defaults, delinquents on morgages and loans, if any other credit or debt agency are involved in your debts, it shows your ccj's, court history if any, morgage payments, and from this information this is where debt recovery investigate further to see if you have a morgage to look to secure any debt if over £1k for a charge against your property if there is any equity, and they will look into that too !!!!!!!!0 -
Linked address's are created by any info provided by you in relation to applications for credit and/or banking services so yes the address mentioned is as a result of your business bank account.
On my Experian report I had 38 address links at one stage, some correct some totally way off the mark as some very dodgy DCA'S decided to 'create' links that were total rubbish.
If a link is correct, ie you have lived at a particular property then all well and good but anything else your first port of call is the CRA'S who will then take the matter up with the organisation who created the link.
Rather than relying on the credit report company you mentioned it is probably better to check your files with Experian and Equifax directly, either by paying £2 for your postal reports or taking a FREE 30 day trial onlineNatwest gold..Limit £1750 bal £970..Vanquis Limit £3000 bal £0..Littlewoods..Limit £1200 bal 0..Additions direct..Limit £4900 bal £1356..Empire Limit £6200 bal £152..Jd williams..Limit £1100 bal £130..Simplybe..Limit £1500 bal 265,,Fashion world..Limit £1400 bal £145 Jacamo..Limit£125 bal 0

This is amazing! I never knew this.
I'm still unsure exactly how the credit agency was able to link me to a business address on my credit report, but perhaps it did come from my bank.0
