Thursday 28/05/09 What small DFW things have you done today???

When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.

But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free;)

Examples could be charging your phone up at work instead of at home to save your electricity, hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.

So be proud of those small steps, they really are important.
:D

Good morning lovely dfw peeps :D

Busy day ahead here as we are having a social services inspection:rolleyes: so lots of going over all the paperwork with a magnifying glass. Will be happy when that is over with.
Been checking through everything since 4am this morning so I know it is all okay but still hate the idea of it:rolleyes:

Hope you all have a great day, that the sun shines and we are all in a happy frame of mind:D Sending hugs to anyone who is feeling poorly or down - hope you feel better soon xx

Hi to all the regulars and welcome to any new posters.

Today I will be:
checking online banking
updating spreadsheets
storecupboard tea using up stuff from freezer
lunch with the oldies at work
filling up car at cheapest garage using last months expenses money:D
check and water everything in greenhouse and the 36 pepper plants in my office:rotfl:
taking energy saving lightbulbs to new house
sparkle brightly (wearing new cow socks for an extra boost while dealing with the SS - thanks fay!!)

will play the rest by ear as the day progresses

Have a good day everyone

    Morning everyone
Hope all goes well today SM- we get the health inspectors in every year in my mum's cafe and even though we know the records are ok I go into a shaking wreck and am convinced she is going to find something and shut us down immediately!!

    Today I have/will:
    • checked banking- phone bill and contact lens DD out early for some reason but at least the money was there though need to get to bank and pay money in today before car insurance comes out
    • made small payment to CC
    • do scratches
    • print more notes in uni to use up the last of my print credits as uni have informed me they won't be giving me a refund
    • do some revision although motivation is at zero right now
That's all for me today, very tired today so don't think it will be a late night in uni!
  • Morning All,

Haven't been on here for a while, but have been lurking from time to time.
Well feel pleased with self but also guilty!

Yesterday, my OH and I had afternoon to ourselves as my lovely mum babysat our 3 boys.

We had scrumptious lunch at Cafe Rouge thanks to Tesco Vouchers/Tokens and only had to pay extra £6 plus tip, so very MSE and nice treat etc.

However, I then went shopping for children's pants and socks and came away from Debenhams with pants, socks, atlas jigsaw puzzles, night garden puzzle, sticker sets and 2 art sets for parties that DS2 has been invited to. So what we saved at Cafe Rouge I blew on non essential toys !!! But I did buy myself a bedside Alarm Clock - wind up, so no more electric there! V MSE :D

    So today I will:

    Return/refund 3 of sticker/art sets and redeem my overspend a little;
    Find Money Neutral gifts for DS2's friends - maybe use nectar points;
    Recalculate accounts/budget - ouch!!
Menu plan for week and not spend any more cash
Water vegetables in conservatory and garden
Pot on plants that are overdue and need bigger pots
    Sow spinach seeds outside
    Do general housework at home
    Check online banking
    Make bread in BM
Bake lemon cake for boys - mmmmm ;) whilst oven is on with Roast Chicken cooking
Mend/fix DS1's favourite bed toy with spare material
    Hang washing up/out
    2 more washes on 30/c & 40c (towels)
    Hang nappies on clothes horse
    Walk pooch - free exercise
    Take DS3 to park
Practise TaeKwonDo at home tonight - only start couple months ago, but am addicted!!

Think thats plenty to be getting on with. Busy busy day.
Have a great day everyone. :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
    Jan GC £267.47/280, Fuel:£40.60/£40; Cafes: £28.35!!/£20, NSD: ?/20
