is it long wheel base,short wheel base,tipper, luton ,crew cab,etc,

The Manufacturers plate which is a metal plate around 4" x 2" in black and silver, held on with pop rivets was on the older Transit on the side of the step on the passenger side, so when you open the door you should see it. It will contain a number of weights
GVW which is the gross vehicle weight which may be shown as 3500kgs
1st axle or front axle possibly around the 1150kg
2nd axle which may be 1750kg
and sometimes the GTW or gross train weight which is the van and a trailer
The plate was for a short period moved to the drivers door step and then under the bonnet on the cross member where the bonnet catch is ?0 -
on the new transit its on the drivers door pillar....work permit granted!0

But this tells you the gross vehicle, train, and axles weights, not the actual weight (which will be a minimum of about 1800)0 -
