Tests conducted by photography magazines have concluded that quality tends to be unpredictable even when using the same lab. I've yet to try Dlab7's digital services, though I've found their prints from negatives very good. Pixdiscount's digital prints were of such quality the camera club judge couldn't tell whether they were digital or film photos, but I don't plan to use them again because I was miffed at their misleading pricing info (quoting p&p rates per order for large prints while neglecting to mention that the p&p was actually per print because only 1 could be ordered at a time). Snapfish also provided good prints, and very quickly.
On the High Street, I've found Jessops to be by far the best. They do mail order too. Klick's prints were soft and grainy-looking, with the appearance of having been printed on a home printer, and they cropped a lot off the edges, although I'd taken great care to ensure that the ratio was correct for a full-frame print.0 -
