18866 Phone scam?

I phoned daughter from home phone using 18866 and on her phone the number said 0919912799100 instead of my number. Also the ring tone sounded different to me. On my phone it said I was dialling 18866 etc.
I phoned her from mobile and it said my number, also tried using normal BT without 18866 and it was fine too so it's happening through 18866.
Flummoxed... how do I block it/find the source?

It probably is 18866, (maybe their dialing number??), but does it really matter? your daughter will not be charged anything as she received the call, and I doubt you will be charged more than your usual rate for dialing the number, have you checked your online account to see what you have been charged for that call?
I think mobiles have a different dialing structure?
I believe some of these dial through numbers give an international number or number withheld to the receiving phone.Don`t steal - the Government doesn`t like the competition0 -
It was what I was being charged I was worried about as the number is an 0900 one! That was the number that appeared on my daughter's phone as the caller, usually it is my number.Torgwen.......... ...........0

090 numbers,(the one you give is 091, but I think the same charging rates), are charged at premium rates for the calling party, not the receiving party, although there are some reverse charge text services, I am not aware of 09 reverse charging numbers for voice calls,( except 0800reverse, but then that is not an 09 number, but charged at similar rates).Don`t steal - the Government doesn`t like the competition0 -
According to my daughter's phone she was being called by the 091 number which was in fact my home phone though, that's what I don't understand. Normally 18866 numbers to her phone say "Mum's phone".Torgwen.......... ...........0

Maybe just a glitch with 18866, as long as the call charges are correct I wouldn't worryDon`t steal - the Government doesn`t like the competition0
