Asda multibuy on sweets - warning

Asda always seem to be offering crappy deals on the X for the price of Y offers. I sometimes work out the savings in my head and they work out at something like a 9p saving on £3.00 spend, for example.0

I reckon these crappy '40p each or 2 for £1' type deals have become a lot more common recently. I think Tesco are trying hard to compete with Aldi (who don't really go in for the BOGOF thing) - the use of yellow SEL's makes it look like they have loads of deals on, when they haven't at all.
I find Tesco very sneaky and underhand in some of their pricing, plus my local one often has out of date food on the shelves. A particular annoyance is the pricing of things as half-price, eg, strawberries, when they have never, ever been the full price.0 -

We went in on Sunday 31st and it was four lightbulbs for £1 or £1 each. We got four :-).
On a similar note to OP and bitter wallet I found it was cheaper to buy 2 x 5L of catsan instead of 1 x 10L.:kisses2: Got married September 2011:smileyhea

I would ring up CS or tell the CS desk and I am sure they would notice the problem and will refund the difference.0

The offer has now changed to 2 for £1.50 so I wonder if it was an error in the first instance.
I actually bought this online and was charged £1.15 each  didnt get the deal!Weight loss November 09-January 10: [STRIKE]13lbs[/STRIKE] [STRIKE]20lbs[/STRIKE] 27lbs! :j0 -
sometimes buying items individually can be cheaper than the multi-pack equivalent e.g Sainsbury's pepsi 2for£3 (6pack) 12 pack £4.59.Like good food and drink?
Try Hotel Chocolat and Baileys.

It is all a ploy. they simply want you to spend more.
I used to fall for it and was always buying these offers, then one week I questioned myself as to why I was doing it, did I really need 3 of whatever just to save a few pence? So now, unless it is a really good offer I just don't bother.
I hate ASDA (hate supermarkets as a whole) but don't have much choice where I live so am kind of stuck with it.The best things in life are free.....0 -
The really small savings are usually on the own brand stuff thats on offer all year round, while the better savings are on the short-term brand name deals0

Asda sell pitta bread for 19p; but on the label it says it's been reduced from 26p. I've been buying that stuff for about a year and it's always been reduced from 26p. Isn't a limit to how long they can say an item has been reduced for?0
