problems with egg website?

Can anyone help?
Everytime I click on any link on the egg website my internet explorer page closes down. I've got the lastest flash player & lots of virus & firewall protection software & have restarted my machine but I can't even email them to ask if there is a problem their end. I'm trying to apply for an egg money card. The home page loads but nothing else.

Has anyone else had problems with the site?

    Hi

Yes, exactly the same problem - but intermittent. Sometimes its when I've put my log-in info in,sometimes on a link further on, sometimes its fine.

When someone phoned to say 'welcome to Egg' I did explain it to them and apparently they're aware of customers having problems and 'they are looking into it'.

That was 2 weeks ago and I'm still having problems! I'm going to talk to the IT guys at work today, see if they can work out whether its their website or my browser/settings, etc.

If I get anywhere with it, I'll post back. In the meantime, it's really annoying.

    Thanks Ali OK

It does make me wonder if I should go with egg if they can't sort this out in 2 weeks. I rely on the internet to do all my banking.

I think I'll ring them. I'll also get back with any info.

    Cheers

I've just been on to them and after initially telling me there was nothing wrong with the site, they then said there was a problem and they are working on it and I should try again in about an hour.

Still no good. Despite them saying it would be fine in an hour it is still crashing constantly. I am seriously considering not getting a egg money card if this is the best they can do.

    Very frustrating!

    Indeed!

I've got their cc and paying by DD so not too bad for me. Set up the MoneyManager thing just to get the £10 cashback (now credited to me), so I have little reason to go on their regularly.

    It played ball tonight.

This may well be nothing to do with it :o (especially if Egg have agreed there is a known problem) ..but the RBS site used to do this to me. I was advised to allow pop-ups (even although there were none) by going to tools>pop up blocker> pop up blocker settings and adding the site url.

Was always fine after that. Just thought I'd mention in case anyone else has a similar prob with other sites.

I have had this problem over the last few months not everytime but enough to notice, I go in via First Direct Internet Banking Plus and it shuts the whole browser down which is a pain as you then have to do the whole security thing again.

Hi. Yes, a lot of websites use pop-ups even though they may be hidden or opened/closed quickly. They tend to be used on some websites for session authentication and web page re-direction.

A rule of thumb with pop-up blockers: if you use the website regularly, enable pop-ups for it. :)

I never thought of that I believe I do have a pop up blocker. That may be it. Thanks for the tip.
