confused....

hi, I attempted to re-claim my bank charges back in 2007, my bank (HSBC) sent me a letter stating that nothing could be done until a high court ruling had been decieded, i never heard anything since and to be honest had forgot until recently when the whole charges thing is being talked about again. I'm a little confused now, as to how/were to pick up from this, am I best to start from the begining or what?? I'm also confused as to when i can claim back from, is it now??..last year??..the year before??

thanks

If you are not in financial hardship then you do nothing unless you have additional charges since 2007 which you can write to the bank to add to your claim, the letter I would expect should have a reference number on it.

thanks for your help, i'm still a little confused though as to the number of years I can claim for, if I write to the bank now adding on more recent charges then that will expand the length of the claim to over 6 years. . .also is it worth writing to the bank to 'remind' them that i havnt forgot???

    thanks again

The claim being over 6 years is part of the FSA Waiver on Bank Charges so it is irrelevant to tell them. If they do come back to you on that point I can quote the FSA Waiver on Bank Charges if need be.
