Facebook Photo Upload Problem

I'm using IE8 and having to use the Simple Uploader when I put photos on (and it takes ages as you can only add 5 pics at a time). How can I resolve this? I've seen http://antaki.ca/bloom/ which purports to be a "multi platform desktop app that lets you upload your photos easily and efficiently to Facebook". However, I'm reluctant to add it without knowing anything about it or whether there's something else I could/should be doing instead.
Any ideas?!?
