Few Cashback card and balance transfer questions

Got a bit of spending coming up so I've decided to look into getting a cashback card, its going to entail a few larger purchases.

My question is if I use this in conjunction with a 0% on purchases card for x amount of months can I do the following:

Purchase on the Cashback card
Pay off the cashback card at end of month using a 0% on purchases card

Would the initial payment to the 0% card be seen as a purchase or a balance transfer by CCCompany #2 ? This should effectively give me the cashback offer but no interest to pay at the end of month 1 correct?

These few large purchases will need to go onto CC as I dont have the cash all at once for them. Also on balance transfer cards, does the 0% rate only apply to a balance transfer at point of application or can I transfer more to it during the x month 0% transfer window?

First large transaction is going to be approx £500-800 this is the one Im wanting to use cashback > 0% purchases for

thankyou in advance for any help :)

you can't pay a CC debt with another purchase CC card
you can only do a BT... usually with a 2-3% BT fee.

Usually BT cards only offer the 0% balances for a limited time after acquisition but you will need to look at the specific T&Cs.

bear in mind that cashback cards typically offer no more than about 1% of the purchase and BT fee is typically 3%.

I would suggest you look for 1 card which will give you 0% on purchases AND a cashback or reward programme.

For example the tesco credit card is offering 0% on purchases for 12 months. In addition you earn clubcard points on all these purchases. Use them sensibly and you'll be getting 1% back on all your purchases. This may not be the best deal about but is just an example.

If you do get a 0% on purchases card I would use it only for purchases and pay the minimum required each month. Put the rest of the money you need to clear it at the end of the interest free period in a savings account, keep an eye on the date and make sure you pay the balance in FULL before the interest free date is up.
