Help on Post redundancy issue

Hi, if anyone can offer advise it would be greatly approeciated.
I was made redundant last month of 7 people employed in my role 3 were made redundant, a scoring system was used where I missed out due to my short length of service (9 months).
However I was informed today that a more junior staff member has been promoted into my old role.
Given I was only there 9 months I can not ascertain whether I was unfairly dismissed or have a grievance.
Thanks

To claim unfair dismissal you have to have 12months service, unless you can show discrimination through a recognised strain, ie sex, age, race etc
Just because a role is redundant a month ago, doesnt necessarily mean it is now, so an employer can fill a gap in that way, redundancy is only applicable at the time in which it happens. It is a common misconception that posts can't be filled for at least 3,6,9 months etc after a redundancy, this is not the case tho, it is purely at the point it happened.
For example, if a company loses a contract to supply something and makes redundancies on the back of that, and then a few days later wins a replacement contract with someone else, they can then take on people to fulfil that contract even if the roles are the same as the redundant people.
Hope that makes sense?0
