British Gas price breakdown
My mate just asked me to check his residential British Gas bill and I noticed on the reverse the following:

Now I might be wrong, but isn't the "2% Government obligation to help the environment" the Climate Change Levy that is only levied on business accounts?
What I do know is that corporation tax (28% for large companies, possibly 30% for certain oil & gas operations) is only paid on profit not turnover!
So if BG are paying 20% corporation tax on turnover, it shows just how huge a profit they are actually making ... and a lot more than the 2% they suggest.
Nice try British Gas, but no coconut this time

"Now to trolling as a concept. .... Personally, I've always found it a little sad that people choose to spend such a large proportion of their lives in this way but they do, and we have to deal with it." - MSE Forum Manager 6th July 2010
