Account started in 1999, settled in 2005

Hi All,

I had PPI on an MBNA card which I took out in 1999. It took me until 20055 to pay the thing off and that was only after getting a badly sold LTSB loan (that's a whoele other thread!).

Given that I took the card out in 1999, and thisis when the mis-selling definitely took place (I have a very poor memory but for some reason this one really stoicks out in my mind, I can even remember what I was wearing!!!!), can I still claim???

Thanks
Rich

    Hiya Rich

I know this is an older claim, but there is no harm in trying.

Do you still have the agreeement for this, or the account number, so you can write this in the reclaim letter?

More info here with useful PPI info and templates, but write in your own reasons for the mis sale.

They have 8 weeks to respond in full

They may give you the opportunity to write back if they have not resolved your case in the first response, and if eligible in the final letter, they should also give details of the Financial ombudsman service if your not satisfied with the outcome of this.

Good luck and post by recorded delivery.

Yes if you feel you have been miss sold it is 6 years from when the account was last used (e.g. when it was closed). I would perhaps give them a ring and ask if they can send you copies of the paperwork.

    Good Luck
