Out of Date box of Wine?

i have just come across a box of wine that has a best before date of August 2008, do you think it will still be ok to drink. It has never been opened

I know nothing about wine but I don't see why not. Look at those people that have that vintage wine from like 20 odd years ago. Wouldn't it work on the same principle? Please someone come and correct me if I'm wrong though because I would hate for you to get poorly!

Did you know that alcohol with an ABV of >10% doesn't need to carry a date of minimum durability on it? (The Food Labelling Regulations 1996, as amended)
So, if your wine was in a bottle, there would be no date on it.
Ariba - your whisky will be fine! What's going to grow in the alcohol?!?!0
