Course Marking - Pay Dispute

Mine, who i based my assertions on, are certainly not. All drive top of the range cars and live in very expensive areas not close to the university, with the exception of one or two who have only just begun lecturing. I was talking about my lecturers, not lecturers on the whole (I am aware of OU tutors, who are nto full time lecturers, being paid less). What I dont agree with is the well paid lecturers not only refusing to *mark* work, but also to even talk to students about their progress.
It's not as bad at all institutions, and it would be nice to see some degree of uniform action going on, or action limited to those that actually *need* a payrise.0 -

Are you a student at Aber... I don't see any top of the range cars outside my office... except the one that belongs to the secretary and the administrators!
Have a look at how much administrators earn compared to (new) lecturers who still, somehow, have to do a lot of the administration!
Oh, I love my different coloured forms :j
Most lecturers who give a damn would give some sort of feed-back!0 -
Nope my OH is at Aber (where I currently am now!) I'm at a different uni. I travel between there, York (home) and Aber all the time - glad I learnt to drive, public transport used to cost me a bomb :eek:0

And it takes quite a while to get anywhere from Aber with or without a car! (Nice weather eh! BTW I've left a post RE: carboot sales in the Wales Forum!)0

Oooh thanks for that, I'll pop over and have a look
I know, last easter was glorious, and now look at it!! 0 -
As a uni employee I do worry about this. AUT members are being told not to set, invigilate or mark exams - which means we will be unable to register continuing students for next year, or issue degrees. I suspect if nothing is settled within a few weeks unis will have to consider closing down after the summer.0
