Insurance for two combined home

Hi,
We own two combined properties which will have a walk way from one property to the other and was wondering what insurance company deals with this?. At the moment they are insured separately with two different insurance companies.
Any relevant help would be appreciated.
Thank in advance.

What do you mean by "walk way"? Just a path crossing the boundary or are the two properties connected by a physical structure? Does your household live in and use both? Are they both detached buildings? Exactly what type of cover do you want?
It sounds like you should contact a good specialist home insurance or/and high net worth broker like Home and Legacy (google for high net worth broker or look on the biba website www.biba.org.uk) who can access more specialist policies that would cover the two buildings under one policy, but it will very much depend on their use, location, the land etc etc.0 -

Both properties are terraced and at the moment both properties are insured seperately. We are thinking of putting a doorway in between both properties so that we have access to both properties. At the moment, i am looking for an insurance quote that would cover us. Could you please advise me of what insurance would cover us.0 -
You need to arrange cover with the same Insurer, you also need to ensure the Insurer is fully aware of the house set up.
Have you asked your current Insurer, if they cannot help your best bet would be to speak to a decent local broker. There is a good link to find one on dogbots post0 -
In that case it sounds like you are basicaly turning the two houses into one, so would just need a single buildings and contents policy. You would need to notify the insuer of the recent works.
I would suggest talking to a local insurnace broker (find one on the BIBA website above) who should be able to find you a solution fairly quickly. You would need to declare the full sums insured, number of bedrooms/rooms accross the two buildings and so on.0
