can anyone point out a UK bank that can do better - needless to the say fewer strings attached the better but i'm prepared to consider fixed term/notice accounts if needed

I'm in the same position as you. I'm currently being paid the princely sum of 0.05% (yes, the decimal is in the right place!) on my business savings. I rang the bank who told me: a) you are on our best rate (I hate to think what their worst rate is  ) and b) you get free banking because you have so much money in your business account - what more do you want...?!
My local business manager eventually set me up with an investment advisor who is going to go through all the bonds, stocks, shares and other investments that the company can invest in over the phone. Although he was meant to call today and didn't bother....*sigh*.0 -

thanks for those suggestions, i'd come across the moneyfacts ones before, but was a put off as most of them aren't completely in the FSCS scheme (some are in the passport scheme, some just aren't at all), but the offer from standard life life seems to be the best one i've seen for a while.0
