Electricity went up 7th March. Gas is 1st August I think. Powergen customers should be receiving a letter shortly telling them their new tariffs. HTH0

From Powergen parent company's website. "The new prices are effective from 10 March 2006 for the majority of affected customers. Age Concern, EnergyOnline and prepayment customers will be see the increase from 31 March 2006."

Thanks for that,so they`ve got one week to inform their customers about the increase.
Looks like they`re leaving it to the last minute hoping to stop a mass exit.0 -
Don't they have to honour the current price for 28 days if you switch because of a price rise?

There is nothing written in any contract with regards honouring the old price when changing however, if you take a meter reading on the day of their price rise (so their computer programs can calculate) then they should give you a 'stay of grace'. It is best to contact your supplier to have this confirmed, if they are not co-operative then speak to Energywatch, they are there to help you.0

got my latest electric bill yesterday from powergen with the new prices on that started on the 10th march but i haven`t had a letter stating the prices.
When i phoned they said both the letter & my bill were sent out on the same day 18th March, but i couldn`t seem to get through to them that surely it`s good customer practise to send out letters about price rises before people get the next bill, but they didn`t seem interested all they said was we`ll make a note of it
