Parking in Birmingham for Bullring Shopping

Am going to Bullring shopping centre on Saturday and wonder where is the cheapest place to park in Birmingham or is there a Park and Ride? Would prefer to drive into centre if parking is reasonable or free?

Comments

  • The Bullring's car parks are apparently very expensive - £1.80/hr. The car parks in train stations in the West Midlands are free and so you can use these Park and Rides and take the train into New Street or Moor St which are both connected to the Bullring.

Which direction are you travelling from?

There is a pay/display car park near the Mailbox (not the actual Mailbox car park). Its outdoors and right underneath the ring road. Basically, drive right past the Mailbox (it will be on your left), and then follow the road to the right underneath the ring road and its there on the left!! Cant remember the name of the road but its the cheapest car park in the area .. about 10mins walk to the Bull Ring.

The only Park & Ride I know is at the Star City leisure complex, about 2 miles from the town centre. No idea of the costs etc of the buses but the parking is free there.

We will be travelling southbound on M6 from Stafford.
  • The cheapest carpark I've ever found in Brum is the Snow Hill carpark - it's run by the council.
The shopper rate is £3 for upto 5 hours (get there after 9.30am)

  • There is a carpark in Digbeth (just the other side of the Bullring center) that charges 40p per hour. I think its on Moat Lane, but it on a one way system and it will be a nightmare to get to from the motorway

Anyone know how much park and ride costs. I plan to shop for quite a few hours! Hope the Bullring is worth it and my husband can last as long as me!

To be honest you're probably better getting the train from Stafford - total cost for 2 adults return is £14.40 that should be a lot less than petrol and parking combined. A 7 hour stay is about £14 in parking at the car parks close to the Bullring + petrol. Train only takes 30 minutes as well.
