Sky are to move to full LLU. Don't know how this affects existing line rental customers. Means I will never use it now, shear difficulty in switching back to BT would put me off it.

I wonder whether they will, like Talk Talk (who I thought had gone LLU long ago but who it appear also use BT's WCLI), introduce a procedure for subscribers wishing to do so to be switched back from WCLI to CPS - see HERE.Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.0

More competition hopefully.0

So I'm currently on Virgin-moving to a house that has a sky setup already and looks like it'll just be a hassle to get virgin in. As a result we'll be moving over to Sky, do I understand this correctly to mean that we wont need to set up BT first?0

Sky will probably arrange the installation of your line for you if you call them up. Same people will do the installation as if you had asked BT to do it.0 -

Just more profit for Sky not more competition, Sky will probably do what
Talk Talk do and thats migrate their end users onto full LLU without telling
them, from the end users point of view little will change, but instead of
Sky paying BT Wholesale £'s for x million call minutes, they will save
that money by originating the calls in there own exchanges, Sky will still
have to pay BT to 'rent' the local loop, about £90 a year0 -
It's my understanding that Sky will be writing to customers in advance of the migration and that customers may opt-out of the migration if they prefer not to move onto the full LLU network.0

TalkTalk have taken a very civilised approach to reinstating CPS for customers who have requested it. Having a second platform to route calls over helps a lot but they are to be commended nevertheless. If Sky had the same situation we might see them responding in a similar way.0
