For me one of the biggest charms of a Greek holiday is dining out in family tavernas looking out onto great scenery. It's an experience you can't get anywhere else. So I would never go AI to Greece and the Greek Islands even though it's no longer cheep to eat out in Grece like it used to be.

There are some nice places in the Pelion region. No AI either HB or self catering (ie eating out!) is the general rule.

Crete is good too, as are the Greek island such as Rhodes & kefalonia.

The greel specialist companies will probably give you a better selection that the usual package locations.

Mdean. I said no dodgy tummys as I am travelling with a Type1 diabetic child, and believe me upset tummy is the last thing a diabetic needs.
  • I found a lovely beach hotel which does all inc in Corfu last year when I was staying at another hotel. its in Gouvia the Louis Corcyra Beach. Gouvia is a a pleasant quiet resort, about 25 mins on bus to Corfu Town, and about the same to airport. We used their beach bar & beach and the food looked excellent they had a jetty for island boat trips. The public areas and outdoor facilities were spotless and very impressive.
