Abbey Court case stayed in 2007

Hi - I've had a rummage around for something that might answer my question, but cant find anything. Apologies for seeking your help.

I pursued a number of institutions back in early 2007 with lots of help and guidance from this site. I received payment straight away from the vast majority - except Cahoot (Abbey National). I took them to court and got a date on the 14th August 2007, I prepared all my dossier (over 100 pages) and awaited the date. Then, as seemed to happen with a lot of people at that time, the action was stayed due to the OFT investigation. So I sat back and waited.

Fast forward to 2009 and I was made redundant 2 months ago so thought that I may be perfect for hardship, so got information from here and went through the process. They laughed at me, and looking through some of the cases on here I can understand why. Fortunately I have recently been offered another job so am glad I dont have to re-pursue a hardship claim.

My question is this: Do I just sit tight and wait for something to happen in regards to the stayed court case, or should I push it?

The amount I claimed back then was just over £3,000, interest since then has added £500 on top. Further charges in 2007 added £500, making the total amount today around £4k. When I wrote my original hardship letter to Abbey I quoted the stayed court case number, but their reply gave me the impression that they thought I was writing and asking for money without having gone through the proper court channels.

Thanks for any direction, in anticipation.

I think you need to check if your court case is an indefinite stay ie until the OFT test case is decided or whether it was stayed for a period of time.
It is a wait and see unfortunately though if the bank have stated you aren't in financial hardship.
I have not worked for NatWest Bank since February 2009
