My daughter has just moved to Hong Kong so I am going out there for 3 weeks later on in the year.
I want to go somewhere inbetween direct from Hong Kong.
Any suggestions eg vietnam or sanya in hainan island?
Have been to Malaysia and Thailand so somewhere else please.

I spent a month in Vietnam about 18 months ago and it was a wonderful place. I've also been to Hong Kong and Vietnam is so much different to Hong Kong as they are much further behind in technology. If you want to see real undesturbed oriental life you should go to Vietnam. Theres also so much culture there and history, not only with the war but with all the different temples and pagoda's. God I wish I could go back.
I have a website of pictures if you want to see it. I can PM you with it as like with all my sites I'm not allowed to put the link on this board.2008 Comping ChallengeWon so far - £3010 Needed - £230Debt free since Oct 20040 -
Siem Reap in Cambodia. Angkor Wat is a 'must see'.0

Taipei in Taiwan? Not quite in-between but it's nearby. My cousin from HK is going on a cruise to Taiwan this summer, but there are flights from HK to Taiwan.0

Soz, but my couisn's trip has been arranged by her school.
Seems like flying there is best way as it's only 1.5 hours
Try http://www.chinatravel1.com/english/leisure/package/taipei.htm
(The main site is http://www.chinatravel1.com/english/index.htm for the HK site)
or there's http://www.chinatravel1.com/english/zy/querypack.jsp?country=Taiwan&city=TPE
China Travel Services (CTS) are the state-run travel agency. This link is for Hotel w/Breakfast+Flight for 2370 HKD - which is about £180.
Probably best to give them a call (they have English speaking staff) to see what they have available and if there are any cruises - don't forget to use BestMinutes to dial HK for 1p per min.0
