im going to get charged,

I was told yesterday by somebody at work that we were getting paid on tuesday, yesterday. so i went home and tried to check my internet account but it was down. so i thought ill top up my phone (because last time it didnt let me if i had insufficent funds in my bank account) it let me top up £10 so i thought i must have been paid. so i paid a £10 bill online too. I have come into work today and checked my account and i have not been paid. So basically im going to get charged twice arent i? the problem is im in my £100 overdraft already so am i going to get 2x going overdrawn plus 2x going over my overdraft? this payments are not showing on my statement online yet though? cheers guys

Are you within the overdraft or are you over the overdraft? Have you now been paid yet?

  • Is your available overdraft showing as £0.00? Until the items have gone through your account you won't be charged.

You might be lucky to avoid any charges providing your pay goes in tomorrow

i really hope so as it will be 2x overdraft and 2x over overdraft. i was very silly for thinking i had been paid but last time i tried to top up it told me that i couldnt as i didnt have enough money, it didnt just take it out my account. pay definatly goes in tonight so fingers crossed.

Try speaking to your bank and explaining the situaiton, they may be willing to waive the charges, failing that you should probably have words with your employer to cover them (if they actually paid you late).

You shouldn't get two charges for being overdrawn, unless you have been overdrawn for sometime (usually one charge per month), though you may get a paid/unpaid item charge for each transaction you make.
