Buying a left hand drive with scrappage scheme?

I have a suitable right hand drive which would qualify as p/x on the scheme, but I would like to do the deal, receiving a left hand drive.
I think I know the answer, but talk is cheap!
If the above is not possible, which country is the cheapest for purchase, so that after a (shortish) period of time, I can export it into Spain.
To purchase a car in Spain is expensive, with little discount available.
Thanks in anticipation.

.
You can be sure that nobody that was involved in setting up the scheme will have been bright enough to have thought about that one.
You do realise that you will have to pay import duty to register a car in Spain?..0 -

Whatever happened to free movement of goods within the EU ???"You were only supposed to blow the bl**dy doors off!!"0 -
It depends on the goods and who they're for. (I don't know about cars though)maninthestreet wrote: »Whatever happened to free movement of goods within the EU ???0 -

Indeed, however;
Nothing to stop anyone taking a UK registered car to anywhere in the EU, however to register it there, it does involve import duty, I guess the same applies when importing to the UK.0 -
Many thanks for the response so far, but does anyone know which European country would be best for me to buy in ?
I know that paying in Euros will be painful at the current rate of exchange, but I hope that a good discount would offset that.
Thanks0 -
Denmark used to be cheapest place in the EU for cars, and they don't have the Euro as their currency."You were only supposed to blow the bl**dy doors off!!"0

Thanks for that maninthestreet, I never would have considered that.0 -

Why does it have to be LHD?, I drive a RHD car in Spain for about 4 months a year, it is no problem.0 -

Thanks for that inactive.
LHD over there just makes the overtaking a smidgen easier.
You have got me thinking though, I may start a new thread with this in mind. Watch out for it on a screen near you "Best visibility on a small car"
Ha Ha ! Thanks again.0 -

True, but if you keep back a bit from the vehicle in front, you can usually see around it OK.
The only slight hiccup I find, is paying for tolls on Motorways, but then that ain't the end of the world.;)0
