No at school the embarrassment was caused by my father picking me up from school (when he could remember) in a white transit van with SNUFFY GARRAT THE URBAN COWBOY! written across both sides of it....

Well better than boring and suburban like me and mine !
Yeh and mine
My mum came to everything I was in, plays, choir, etc and the only thing my dad came to was my swimming competitions which he pushed me into and I got to a stage where I was so worried about losing and letting him down that I would be nearly sick before every race. I think that insecurity has carried on with me into my adult life, as I spend my life worrying about what my scorg thinks and making sure he is ok and trying to please him that I am miserable a lot of the time.
oops, sorry guys, didn't mean that to come out, everyone's got their own problems without listening to mine ranting onToo much month, not enough Cash!

thank you for the compliment Pooky. I know you and Sammy are talking sense. I wish I could think like that
I think I am missing out by feeling like this. I don't date, I barely go out and all my clothes come from M and S.
I think i need to prove to myself once and for all that if I was "thin" my life either would or would not be better. Hope that makes sense.
Until I do that I will be stuck here going "if only" or "I wish" which I hate doing.
You know you lot certainly make me get stuff out of my head.Nevertheless she persisted.0 -

I know you are right but I fight daily with 'appearances' and what is real life.
I know I'm not a bad person but in the past couple of years I've done some things I am not proud of and whilst it appears I have a wonderful happy home life, my struggle with how I look is directly related to 'other issues' between my DH and I. It is so intrinsicly (sp?) intertwined that I feel I am fighting a losing battle.
I know there is so much more to how you think, feel and look than you're saying - but don't feel you are alone in anything.Bunnyinthelights wrote: »You are all so lovely, and it must be frustrating to hear me whinge, I am sorry, I'll shut up now xxxx
