I applied for my daughter early this year
We got a holiday which are are going to in UK end of July
Today she got her pc Intel 2.8ghz dual core (1gb ram, needs upgrading which I believe it cam it has 4 memory slots), 250gb hard drive, wireless adaptor, 17" LCD monitor, DVD drive, Lexmark printer/scanner/fax machine, mouse/keyboard. Vista home and dvd player software/MS works/nero/aniti virus came with it too
Its a nice little pc and reasonable quite too0 -
That is wonderful, well done.:T
I am a first time applicant for the fund, even though it was advised to me at an earlier time, it slipped my mind, I hear that first time applications if successful they are also very generous.
Do you know if they give towards for example my son has a small bedroom and his cupboards are falling apart, he does really need some space saving ones, any idea if they cater for this type of thing?
Thanks so much.;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -
Hi not sure about the cupboards, no harm in asking you can ask for 3 items
We asked for pc, holiday and a living room fire as we dont have a fire in there and can afford a electric heater to run even though they are cheap to buy. She suffers from acute cold even at this time of year she has to wrap up well. They could only supply a electric heater so we didnt go for that wanted a gas fire
We got Thomas cook vouchers which help pay for holiday with Hoseasons, its a nice cottage we got, we did add a little towards it about £60
PC they gave a extra ATI graphics card around £40-£50 I was going to pay for that but they said as its her only one claim as she is now 18 and we only applied this year they waved that. Its a nice pc and compact design. I am going to get some more ram as 1gb isnt brilliant for Vista but its cheap to buy so cant complain.
Hope it helps you. They didnt come round either just gave the information on income/dla forms etc. They were very nice
I know whats its like to have small bedroom other daughter has a boxed room only enough room for a small desk bedside cabinet and bed. I can understand why you need help with that, perhaps its need a bespoke cupboard/s that a joiner can do0 -
