Video editing software

Options
Can anyone reccommend a good video/movie editing software for adding effects to home movies, adding soundtracks to video files.

Looking for somehing easy to use but with plenty of features.

I have already used Windows movie maker and don't find it that good.

If you know anyone with a Mac, iMovie pretty much blows Movie Maker out of the water.

Microsoft have a beta of the latest version of Movie Maker available for download:

    http://download.live.com/moviemaker

you could maybe give that a try.

How 'bout Adobe Premiere Elements? You can get it in a bundle with Photoshop Elements for under £82 @ Ebuyer, or ~£59 by itself.

I've done a fair amount of editing over the years and Vegas is the best suite I've ever used.
