I think I've been misunderstood. All I was saying was that I was in that position too and its not great.
Yes its fantastic that there's no rent/board, and very, very generous, but at the end of the day if you don't have enough cash you can't do a lot of things that you need to do to study. £800 is a tiny tiny amount to spend over a year, even if you have no rent and bills to pay, its £16.66 per week.
But of course its great when parents are willing to let rent and board go for education, there'd be a lot less people at uni if it wasn't the case.
Hetfields_Beard... maybe try something that fits round uni too, like leaflet delivery, flexible stuff.0
