Fab Service from Experian

Apologies if this is not the right board, but I seem to read threads on here complaining about Experian and wanted to reassure people, that I've recently used them and found their customer service fantastic.

I ordered my 30 day free credit trial, viewed my file (which thankfully, was fine) and then cancelled by e-mail yesterday. I received an email today confirming my cancellation had been received and processed.

Great service - would definitely recommend them.

Not really seen anyone having any issues with them, but totally agree with you. In fact, I decided to keep the service and pay for it for a year.
  • I applied to that service, 2 days later they said they wanted more info from me.

So its not really an instant credit report is it.

I've recently signed up to this free report, plus paid £4.99 for my credit score - which is no longer showing up on my account?? Anyway, I'm not sure I trust the information they provide.. One of my credit cards, the first one I ever got and still use isn't shown what so ever! What's that about???

I've used another company similar (Equifax?) and they had all my details including this particular cc, so think I'll be re purchasing (Paid for that one, wasn't aware they had free reports previously) from them.
    The £2.00 Coin Savers Club = approx £22.00  :j.. The 20p Savers Club = £17.80.

Think about it, though. Experian have lots of confidential information about you and your finances. It is in your interests that they are absolutely sure that you are are who you say you are before they release such confidential information.

Could you give the e-mail address you sent your cancellation request to and the e-mail address the REPLY came back from. This could benefit the others who have had problems cancelling close to the 30 Day FREE TRIAL expiry date.

IMHO the credit scores are a waste of time but the credit history information is very useful.
Anyway, I'm not sure I trust the information they provide.. One of my credit cards, the first one I ever got and still use isn't shown what so ever! What's that about???
Well, if you don't trust them, the bad news is that credit card issuers and other lenders do, so rather than complaining on a public forum, you would be far better contacting Experian and asking them to correct any errors (same goes for any other CRAs). If your old credit card isn't shown, that could be because there are one or two companies (HSBC and LTSB if I recall) who didn't report "well run" accounts to the CRAs. The other possibility is that when you applied for the account, the Ts & Cs did not state that they would report your information to Experian. If it did not state that and you had not signed Ts & Cs that said they would do that, then they can't send report your card to Experian.
I've used another company similar (Equifax?) and they had all my details including this particular cc, so think I'll be re purchasing (Paid for that one, wasn't aware they had free reports previously) from them.
Equifax are another major CRA. Generally, Experian seems to have more complete a picture than Equifax and it appears to be more widely used by
lenders than Equifax. Equifax also do a free trial of their Equifax Gold service (equivalent of Experian's CreditExpert). You can also get statutory reports for £2 from each CRA. The stoozing website has a table with links to all the different ways you can get hold of your credit report if you are interested.

Couldnt find any email address on their site, but this was a link on the initial email they sent me. HTH
  • I sent my email to CustomerService@CreditExpert.co.uk, and the reply came back from the same address.
