just very briefly my OH pays maintenance for his kids but my son is starting University in September:eek:
does anybody know if my OH's maintenance payments will take account of this and reduce any cos money is gonna be real tight
any advice appreciated. thanks
OH's maintenance payments could go up. CSA1 is harder to give general ideas for, but under csa2 the number of legal dependent children in your household has reduced.0 -
Same for CS1 - if the person going to university is not the child of the NRP then your protected income will reduce by the child amount, so if the NRP is paying a reduced rate due to the protected income, it may mean that the amount he has to pay now increases more in line with the actual assessment. If the protected income figure without the child rate in it still leaves the NRP with a shortfall, then they still get a reduction though. Complicated to explain.0
