Options
Hey everyone. This forum is awesome. I am thinking about landing at London's Stanstead Airport and need to get to the Croydon area. Any tips?

    Couple of ways
    1) Stanstead express
    Liverpool Street Station,
    tube central line to Bank,
    change there to Northern line,
one stop to London Bridge, then catch
Thameslink train to East Croydon.may take just under 2 hours

    2) Coach from Stanstead to Gatwick Airport, then train from there to East Croydon, may take about 2hrs,if M25 is in your favour.

    goodluck.

Stansted Express to Liverpool St then bus to London Bridge then train to East Croydon

or Stansted Express to Tottenham Hale then Underground to Victoria then train to East or West Croydon.

Another option from Liverpool St. Take the bus to one of the Thameslink stations and then get a direct train to East Croydon.

Thanks for the tip on the train/bus/train again. You gotta love public transportation. I do have one other option if I rent a car but I haven't gotten to the part about car rental agencies operating out of Stanstead yet. Any idea if there are any out near the Stanstead Airport? Thanks again.

I reckon that would be fastest; Thameslink can be really slow, especially on the Blackfriars - London Bridge section.

    Can I help?

Indeed, but generally not quite so crowded (esp if you have luggage)

I think you can get some trains from croydon via stratford then into liverpoolstreet and back out again to stansted.

Thanks guys. I am close to booking the flight and am going to rent a car (hopefully I get an Espace :rotfl: ). One more question though, anyone here rent a car out of Stanstead? I like the big guns like Avis and National but was just curious how easy it was to rent out there compared to Heathrow and Gatwick.
