    You are correct, never cancel the PPI on a loan, you only cancel PPI on a credit card.
    When you cancel PPI on a loan , as you found out, the loan does not get reset or the PPI taken off and the loan payment reduced by the PPI monthly amount, it only gets reset at the upheld stage.
